Undetected hearing problems can stunt the growth of a child's communication abilities. That's why every child born at a Baptist Health hospital receives a hearing screening.
Once a hearing disorder is diagnosed, children are treated by a multidisciplinary team that includes pediatric otolaryngologists, audiologists, geneticists, and speech-language pathologists associated with Wolfson Children's Rehabilitation. Our partnership with Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, Jacksonville, allow patients to take advantage of these health care specialists and the services the Nemours Ear and Hearing Center provides. The center has advanced, programmable hearing-aid services, and counseling and therapeutic intervention are available to help hearing-impaired children maximize benefit from their hearing aids or cochlear implants.
